Air Liquide SA said Monday that currency translation would have a positive impact on its third-quarter revenue.

The French industrial-gases company expects a favorable foreign-exchange effect close to 0.5% on revenue in the quarter to the end of September.

That compares with a negative impact of 4.7% on its gas & services revenue and a negative impact of 4.6% for group revenue as a whole for the second quarter.

The company cited the Chinese renminbi as the currency it expects to have the largest impact on 3Q group sales--having gained 5.7% against the euro on-year--followed by the U.S. dollar, Argentine peso and Japanese yen.

For the full year, Air Liquide said it expects a hit of about 2.2% from currencies, based on an estimated annual average EUR/USD exchange rate of 1.19.

Third-quarter sales are due on Oct. 22.
