BASF SE said Wednesday that it has signed a two-year contract to
purchase solely renewable energy to power its mobile emissions
catalysts plant in Sroda Slaska in Poland.
The German chemicals company's Polish business struck the deal
with PGE Obrot, a subsidiary of PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna
SA.
The contract will help BASF in its objective of attaining
climate neutrality by 2050, said Katarzyna Byczkowska, BASF
Polska's managing director. The company didn't reveal any financial
details of the contract.
