Ginevra Elkann has resigned from Kering's board of directors after changing roles within Elkann family holding company Exor NV, the French luxury-goods group said Tuesday.

The resignation is effective Tuesday, and aims to avoid any conflict of interests, Kering said in a release. The company will consider a possible replacement for Ms. Elkann in the coming weeks, it added.

According to Exor's website, Ms. Elkann is a nonexecutive director. The company didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.
