--Royal Dutch Shell PLC (RDSA.LN) may be interested in BHP Billiton Ltd.'s (BHP.AU) assets for sale in the Permian basin, Bloomberg reports, citing an interview with Shell's upstream director Andrew Brown.

--Mr. Brown said at the International Petroleum Week conference in London that Shell "will look at opportunities" to improve its shale position, Bloomberg reports.

--BHP Billiton plans to exit its $10 billion U.S. shale unit and these assets "may be interesting" to Shell, Bloomberg reports Mr. Brown as saying.
