EDP-Energias de Portugal SA (EDP.LB) said Monday that it hasn't established any contact with France's Engie SA (ENGI.FR) over a possible takeover, responding to an earlier report on France's BFM Business.

BFM reported that Engie was examining a possible bid for EDP, adding that the chief executives of both companies had been in contact.

No decision would be made until the new chairman, Jean-Pierre Clamadieu, takes over on May 18, BFM also said.
