--Exxon Mobil Corp. (XOM) reached a preliminary agreement to sell natural gas to the Alaska LNG Project, the Anchorage Daily News reported Monday.

--In a related move, the energy company and the state reached a letter of understanding that extends an agreement for the Point Thomson gas field, the report said.

--A vice president with Alaska's gas-line agency said the state hopes to soon reach an agreement with ConocoPhillips on gas sales, according to the report.
