Eni Spa (ENI.MI) said Wednesday that it started gas and condensate production at one of its fields in Nigeria's Niger Delta.

The Italian oil major said the Obiafu 41 site contains around 28 billion cubic meters of gas and 60 million barrels of condensate. At the end of ramp-up, production will reach a capacity of about 3 million cubic meters of gas and 3,000 barrels of condensate per day.

Gas from the discovery is mainly destined for the Nigerian domestic power sector, Eni said.
