Sanofi SA (SAN.FR) said Thursday that it has agreed to a $315 million payout in a law suit that relates to its acquisition of Genzyme Corp. in 2011.

Sanofi said that the settlement concerns certain contingent value rights that were released to former Genzyme shareholders as part of the deal. These rights can be related to monetary entitlements linked to drug development milestone.

The French company said that with this settlement the CVRs will cease to trade and the lawsuit will be dismissed.
