Eni SpA said late Thursday that the board of directors has appointed Chief Executive Claudio Descalzi to a third term and Lucia Calvosa as chairwoman.

The Italian oil-and-gas company said the new board, whose terms will expire with the approval of financial statements for 2022, was appointed at the company's shareholders meeting held on May 13.

Ms. Calvosa replaces Emma Mercegaglia.
