Vodafone Group PLC on Tuesday appointed Ahmed Essam as incoming chief executive of Vodafone UK, replacing Nick Jeffery, and appointed Alex Froment-Curtil as incoming group chief commercial officer.

The U.K. telecommunications company said that Mr. Essam will become the new chief executive from Feb. 1. He has been group chief commercial officer for the company since 2018 and will remain on the Vodafone Group executive committee. He will replace Mr. Jeffery, who will be leaving Vodafone on Feb. 15 to take up a new role outside the company.

Alex Froment-Curtil was named incoming group chief commercial officer, and will join the executive committee from Feb. 1. Mr. Froment-Curtil joined Vodafone in 2003.

Shares at 1309 GMT were up 0.46 pence, or 0.4%, at 131.62 pence.
