Update on the US Patent Applications to Protect Web3 Intellectual Property

The board of directors (the "Board") of Tintra , the fast-growth Deep Tech & Banking business, is pleased to announce it has received a material update on its patent applications with the United States Patent & Trademark Office (the "USPTO") , first announced on 11 July 2022 (the "Patents").

The USPTO has now indicated that the original filings for the two Patents contained multiple, not single as originally expected, inventions. As such, and in pushing forward to legally protect Tintra's innovations in AML, KYC and Web 3.0 technologies, Tintra has this week sought independent patent protection for each of these different inventions and, consequently, its patent portfolio in the US is anticipated to be for an increased number of patents than originally envisaged, although the final number is not yet clear.

This is in addition to the continuing research and development efforts that will spawn other new protectable concepts suitable for national or international patent rights. In one of the two original US filings, the USPTO has in this latest correspondence indicated that there is indeed allowable patentable subject-matter. In accepting this statement from the USPTO Tintra anticipates that it is likely to receive its first granted US patent by May 2023, although timing and success is not certain. The Company will provide a further announcement as and when appropriate.

Dr Davy Smith, the Company's Chief Innovation Officer, said: "Due to the highly innovative and complex nature of the infrastructure that we are creating to enable future regulated identity systems, using web 3.0 technology, we were aware that there would be a requirement for multiple inventions to be ultimately filed .

This positive feedback from the USPTO has now confirmed these initial thoughts, and this now gives us a strong base from which my team can build our web 3.0 patent portfolio upon, which based on this news today we now expect to be adding to signifgantly over the coming months. "
