Testing Confirms Zenova Insulation Products Reduce Heat Build Up

Zenova Group PLC (AIM: ZED) , a provider of innovative fire safety and heat management technology and products, is pleased to report that the results of a recent test confirmed the insulation qualities of its Zenova IP thermal insulation paint and Zenova IR thermal insulation render.

The test was carried out by a leading independent testing company, Intertek, in accordance with testing standard ASTM D4803 to confirm how Zenova IP thermal insulation paint and Zenova IR thermal insulation render reduces heat build-up on steel surfaces.

In real world situations, heat build-up relates to the amount of heat absorbed by a surface, which then increases the ambient air temperature around the material and on the material's reverse side. It is the reason why the temperature in uninsulated structures such as shipping containers and modular buildings can rise considerably when exposed to prolonged sunshine and hot external temperatures.

The test, which was carried out in laboratory conditions, found that:

-- A 1.33mm coating of Zenova IP thermal insulation paint reduced the rise in ambient air temperature on the opposite side of a steel sheet by 54% compared to an untreated control sample

-- A 5mm coating of Zenova IR thermal insulation render reduced the rise in ambient air temperature on the opposite side of a steel sheet by 55%, compared to an untreated control sample
