PR Newswire (US)
Johnsonville to be Named Title Sponsor of the AVP Hot Winter Nights
Tour Kicking Off in Albany on January 15, 2009 LOS ANGELES, Oct. 30
/PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- AVP, Inc. (OTC:AVPI) (BULLETIN BOARD:
AVPI) , a lifestyle sports entertainment company focused on
professional beach volleyball, today announced a three-year
sponsorship agreement with Johnsonville Sausages, LLC. This
agreement includes title sponsorship for the upcoming AVP Hot
Winter Nights Pro Beach Volleyball Indoor Tour in addition to an
extensive outdoor tour activation, the "Johnsonville Big Taste
Beach BBQ." The sponsorship agreement with Johnsonville will also
make it the "Official BBQ Partner of the AVP Johnsonville Hot
Winter Nights Pro Beach Volleyball Indoor Tour" and "Official BBQ
Partner of the AVP Crocs Pro Beach Volleyball Tour" through 2011.
By joining forces with the AVP to sponsor this exciting tour, which
the AVP created in 2008 in partnership with AEG Live, LLC,
Johnsonville creates a unique opportunity to extend their brand
beyond arenas and backyards and onto the beach. "As we work to grow
the AVP and the sport of beach volleyball, we are so pleased to
announce that Johnsonville has signed on as our year-round partner
and the title sponsor of our indoor tour," said Leonard Armato, AVP
CEO and commissioner. "Johnsonville is a great fit with the outdoor
beach party lifestyle of the core AVP audience, reminding them of
summer beach parties and barbeques." The comprehensive agreement
includes onsite presence in the form of hosting the concessions
area, television commercial units, stadium and on court signage,
promotional activation, public announcements, hospitality, product
sampling and sales. Additionally, Johnsonville will receive online
representation and have the opportunity to conduct retail
promotional activation at each tour stop. "We love volleyball --
both indoor and out," said Ralph Stayer, owner of Johnsonville
Sausages. "As highlighted by the AVP and this year's Olympic games
in Beijing, volleyball is exploding right now, and it is truly a
thrill for Johnsonville to be partnered with the AVP and their
tremendous athletes and brand. Johnsonville is excited to introduce
its bratwurst, sausage and the Johnsonville experience to the avid
AVP fans across the country and to tap into the fun-loving,
athletic vibe of their audience. "We are looking forward to the
Johnsonville Big Taste Beach Barbeque becoming a must-see
destination on the AVP Tour, and the Johnsonville experience
becoming a regular part of everyone's favorite menu," Shelly
Stayer, co-owner of Johnsonville Sausages, concluded. Tricia Olsen,
president of FastBreak Entertainment, was instrumental in brokering
the deal for Johnsonville with the AVP. The AVP Johnsonville Hot
Winter Nights Tour is the only indoor beach volleyball tour of its
kind and will start on January 15, 2009 in Albany, NY. Each tour
stop consists of a three-hour round robin tournament, as well as an
indoor beach party. Taking place during the dead of winter, the Hot
Winter Nights Tour brings the beach, including beach volleyball
Olympians past and present, and the most popular players from the
summertime AVP Crocs Tour to arenas in snowbound cities all over
the U.S. Join the fun as the best of the beach compete from Jan. 15
