Item 7.01 Regulation FD Disclosure

On August 1, 2013, Granite Falls Energy, LLC ("GFE" or the "Company") and Heron Lake BioEnergy, LLC ("HLBE") issued a joint news release announcing that GFE has acquired a majority interest in HLBE, GFE will provide management services to HLBE, and GFE will appoint a majority of the members of HLBE's board of governors. A copy of the news release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1 and is incorporated herein by reference.
