SAP Takes Further Steps to Exit Russia Operations

SAP SE said Tuesday that it would take further steps toward an
"orderly exit" from operations in Russia as it withdraws
customer-support services in the country.
The German software company said it would end support and
maintenance of its on-premise products in Russia, and offer
non-sanctioned companies in the country the choice to have their
data deleted, sent to them, or migrated to a data center outside of
Russia.
Existing customers in Russia using on-premise software would
still be able to use SAP's products, it said.
For Russian companies that choose to migrate their data, SAP
said it won't renew their contract upon expiration of the current
subscription term, the Walldorf-based company said.
SAP previously said in March it would halt sales in Russia and
Belarus and was in the process of shutting down cloud operations in
Russia.
The DAX-listed company, which has operated in Russia for more
than 30 years, said it would aim to responsibly manage the impact
on its employees of winding down its operations in the country.
SAP's major rival Oracle Corp. has withdrawn all operations in
Russia and removed service and support for the country's
companies.
