Central Asia Metals PLC said Thursday that its third-quarter copper production was above that of the second quarter, and that it was on track to achieve the top end of its 2021 copper production guidance at the copper-recovery plant in Kazakhstan.

Guidance for the Kounrad copper recovery plant is in the range of 12,500 to 13,500 metric tons.

The London-listed company, which produces copper in Kazakhstan and zinc and lead in North Macedonia, said copper production for the period was 4,146 metric tons, compared with 3,334 metric tons for the second quarter. Kounrad's copper production for the first nine months of 2021 was 10,360 metric tons.

The company said it was also on course to achieve the lower end of its 2021 zinc production guidance at the Sasa zinc-lead mine in North Macedonia. Sasa zinc guidance was in the range of 23,000 to 25,000 metric tons. The company said it expects its Sasa lead production in the fourth quarter to be around 5% below guidance of 30,000 to 32,000 metric tons.

The company said that it has made a $10 million debt repayment, and that this will reduce its corporate debt facility to zero by next August.
