Appointment of independent non-executive Director
Halma, the FTSE 100 global group of life-saving technology
companies, today announces the appointment of Sharmila Nebhrajani
OBE as an independent non-executive Director, effective 1 December
2021. Sharmila will also be a member of Halma's Audit, Remuneration
and Nomination Committees.
Sharmila brings a wealth of experience gained across a variety
of roles - spanning both the public and private/NGO sectors - with
a particularly strong background in sustainability and health. She
is currently a non-executive director at ITV plc and Severn Trent
plc, and Chair of the National Institute for Health and Care
Excellence (NICE).
Sharmila was Chief Executive of Wilton Park (part of the Foreign
and Commonwealth Office), responsible for convening international
policy dialogue with governments, NGOs, policy makers and academics
on topics such as global health and climate risk. Previously, she
worked for the Medical Research Council, Association of Medical
Research Charities and NHS Sussex. In her earlier career, she held
senior positions within the BBC, Cable & Wireless plc and
PwC.
Dame Louise Makin, Chair, commented:
