Intesa Sanpaolo SpA (ISP.MI) said Monday it has invested in financial-technology startup Oval Money's series A financing round.

Oval produces an app that helps users manage and invest their savings, Intesa said.

Intesa said it plans to start a partnership between Oval Money and its Banca 5 retail-banking subsidiary.

Neither party disclosed financial details of the transaction.
