Eni Signs Agreements With Sonatrach in Algeria

Eni SpA (ENI.MI) said Sunday that it has signed agreements,
including for the establishment of a joint venture, with Algeria's
Sonatrach related to renewable energy.
The Italian oil major said the new joint venture will be fully
dedicated to Algeria's renewable energy sector and the partnership
aims to install and operate solar power-production units at
Sonatrach's and Eni's production sites, as well as at other
locations in the country.
The two companies also signed an agreement to implement the
construction of an advanced research-and-development laboratory at
the Bir Rebaa North site in Algeria to test solar and hybrid
technologies in a desert environment.
