Biopharmaceutical company Sanofi SA on Wednesday announced that Christian Mulliez resigned from the company's board of directors.

The company chose Christophe Babule to serve out the term, which is slated to expire at the company's annual general meeting in 2022. The appointment is subject to ratification at Sanofi's next meeting of shareholders, which is scheduled for April 30.

Mr. Babule spent his career with L'Oreal SA, joining the company in 1988. As of the middle of this month, he will serve as that company's executive vice president, chief financial officer and will be a member of its executive committee.
