Technical Advancements in Natural Language Processing and
Computational Argumentation

SAN FRANCISCO, Feb. 11, 2019, /CNW/ -- Join IBM (NYSE: IBM)
as we advance one of the great boundaries in AI: mastering
language. Based on pioneering research in natural language
processing and deep learning, IBM Project Debater is the first AI
system that can debate humans on complex topics and will take on
its grandest challenge yet.
On Monday Project Debater will face a champion debater in front
of a live audience in San
Francisco. In this first-ever public debate, neither the AI
nor its opponent will train on the topic of the debate in advance,
leaving the audience to decide which debater was most persuasive.
What: Project Debater Live
Debate
When: Monday, Feb. 11 - 5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. PST, 8:00 p.m. -

the work that went into creating the system, which has been
published in more than 30 research papers and produced nearly a
dozen patents. John Donvan,
four-time Emmy Award-winner and host of the Intelligence Squared
U.S. debate series, will moderate the session. More details on
debate logistics and the technology behind the system can be found
