Total to Join Consortium to Bid for Its First Offshore Wind Project

LONDON--French energy giant Total SA (FP.FR) said Monday that it
has joined a consortium to bid for its first offshore wind
tender.
Total said it is partnering with Danish renewable energy company
Orsted A/S and Belgian renewables producer Elicio NV to submit a
joint bid for the Dunkirk offshore wind farm project, which has
capacity of up to 600 megawatts.
"Total's participation in this offshore wind bid is in line with
our strategy to develop low-carbon electricity business in Europe,"
Philippe Sauquet, president for gas, renewables and power at Total,
said in a statement.
