Societe Generale SA (GLE.FR) said Friday that its holdings in Assicurazioni Generali SpA (G.MI) reported in a regulatory filing aren't related to any strategic position in the Italian insurer.

"These flows result from classic transactions linked to the hedging of operations carried out in the framework of market activities," the French bank said.
