Royal Dutch Shell PLC (RDSB.LN) said Friday that it has appointed Huibert Vigeveno as downstream director from Jan. 1, 2020, replacing John Abbott who will leave the company after 38 years service.

The oil giant said Mr. Vigeveno joined the company in 1995 and is currently executive vice president global commercial.

Shell said Mr. Abbott will remain on the executive committee until March 31 to assist with the transition. Mr. Vigeveno will also join the executive committee.
