Phoenix Group Holdings PLC (PHNX.LN) said Friday that Group Chief Executive Clive Bannister will retire on March 10 and that he will be succeeded by Andy Briggs, subject to regulatory approval.

The European life insurer said Mr. Briggs has over 30 years experience in insurance industry leadership, having been CEO at Friends Life, at the Retirement Income division at Prudential PLC (PRU.LN), and at U.K. Insurance at Aviva PLC (AV.LN).

Shares at 0830 GMT were down 10.40 pence, or 1.5%, at 708.20 pence.
