Bleepa(R) pilot study - The Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, part of the Northern Care Alliance, to initiate a pilot study using Bleepa(R)

Pilot study to be used initially by respiratory teams to receive internal patient referrals

Cambridge, 18 November 2019: Feedback plc (AIM: FDBK, "Feedback" or the "Company"), the specialist medical imaging technology company, announces a pilot study with Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust using its new encrypted medical communication platform, Bleepa(R) , which enables clinicians to access medical grade images through smartphones, tablets and desktops.

The study will be carried out initially by Dr Georges Ng Man Kwong's team who receive respiratory requests for specialist review of inpatients from other clinical teams. The study will assess how Bleepa(R) supports the workflow of cross team referrals and is expected to go live during December and last for approximately three months. It is anticipated that a number of additional clinicians from various specialities will be involved in the study and key endpoints will examine the system benefits of Bleepa(R) deployment. The quality of data, user experience and impact on patient care are the focus of the study with pre and post benchmarks executed and scheduled.

The board of Feedback anticipates that, following initial success, the pilot will be extended to include other clinical teams within the Trust with interest expressed for Orthopaedic and Vascular referrals.

Dr Tom Oakley, CEO of Feedback, commented:

"Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust is a renowned adopter of new technology given its status as a GDE Fast follower site, and we look forward to working with the team on our first pilot study of Bleepa(R) . We believe that Bleepa will accelerate the process of requesting a specialist opinion from colleagues, ultimately resulting in better care for patients, faster.

"The Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust pilot study is our first, but with the interest we have received since the launch of Bleepa at the NHS Expo 2019 in September, we anticipate more to follow."

Libby Woodcock, EPR Transformation Manager of Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, commented:

"Transforming clinical services by providing digital enablement is always high on our agenda and we are excited to be involved."

Dr Georges Ng Man Kwong, Consultant Chest Physician and CCIO of Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, commented:

"Bleepa is addressing a direct clinical challenge to better support our busy respiratory clinicians (at the Royal Oldham Hospital) by improving referral process and patient care. Each referral requires rapid and reliable access to radiology images and clinical handover information, and a means of messaging referring teams and documenting outcome. Bleepa has the potential to bring this together for our clinicians and therefore for our patients. We are delighted to be involved with this innovation solution."

Bleepa(R) is an innovative new app based on Feedback's Cadran technology, which allows medical staff to securely view and discuss high quality medical grade images on mobile devices. The app will display images directly from the hospital's Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS). Bleepa(R) can display any type of image including X-rays, CTs, MRIs and ultrasound studies allowing users to easily scroll through image slices and annotate areas of interest. Questions can be asked alongside annotations and submitted into the chat where they can be securely reviewed by colleagues at the swipe of a finger, with instant access to the original image.
