BP PLC (BP) on Wednesday said it signed a deal with Amazon Web
Services which will see the energy company supply facilities in
Spain and Sweden with renewable power.
BP said it will supply more than 170 megawatts of wind and solar
power to Amazon Web Services data centers, starting in 2021.
BP said it expects to increase the amount of energy supplied to
Amazon's facilities to over 400MW.
The first project under the agreement will see BP provide energy
from one of the largest offshore windfarms in Europe, currently
under construction off the coast of Sweden. Other facilities being
built to support the project include a new solar farm in Spain.
Amazon Web Services is an Amazon.com Inc. (AMZN) business.
