Sanderson collaboration with the National Trust
Walker Greenbank PLC (AIM: WGB), the luxury interior furnishings
group, is pleased to announce that its Sanderson brand is
collaborating with the National Trust to create a unique collection
of fabrics that celebrate the countryside, coastline and nature
conservation.
The collaboration brings together Sanderson, whose floral themes
are inspired by nature and the English countryside, with Europe's
largest conservation charity, which has cared for places of beauty,
history and nature for 125 years.
The fabric collection, to be named Celebration of the National
Trust, will be launched in early April this year. The collection,
of more than 50 designs and colourways, will be previewed at London
Design Week in March, in a pop-up at the Design Centre Chelsea
Harbour.
The collection brings to life the values of the National Trust
and its commitment to caring for our natural and cultural heritage.
It has taken inspiration from the breadth of properties and
landscapes within the Trust's care and drawn on original documents
from the extensive Sanderson archive to create a range of
beautifully drawn botanical fabrics.
The Company is pleased to be supporting the National Trust
through sharing a percentage of the sales of the fabrics, thereby
contributing to the charity's extremely valuable work.
Lisa Montague, Walker Greenbank's Chief Executive Officer,
said:
"The Sanderson brand and the National Trust have a huge depth of
shared heritage. We are delighted to be collaborating on this
exciting new collection which will be launched in early April
during an anniversary year in which the National Trust celebrates
its 125(th) year and Sanderson its 160(th) .
"The inspiration for the collection, Celebration of the National
Trust, is the countryside, coastline and heritage that the Trust
has protected and preserved over many years. We are very pleased to
be supporting the Trust's work through a share of the sale of each
fabric."
Clare Brown, the National Trust's Head of Brand Licensing and
Retailer Development, said:
"We are thrilled to be working with Sanderson. Working together
was a natural fit for us - we both share a common love for the
beauty of nature and the countryside around us. Seeing how they
have interpreted the landscapes in our care into such versatile
designs has been really inspiring. Importantly, this collaboration
is not only inspired by the places we love, but it also helps
contribute to their continued survival, through the income
generated from sales."
