Siemens said Wednesday that it is teaming up with Toutenkamion
Group to create mobile intensive care units that hospitals can use
in situations like the coronavirus pandemic.
The German engineering giant and the French industrial mobility
company are building an agile container-system that can be used to
expand hospital infrastructure if needed.
The product came up amid the coronavirus pandemic when hospitals
needed solutions for contagious patients such as increasing the
number of intensive care beds, Siemens said.
Toutenkamion Group designs the units, while Siemens provides the
technology inside.
Every intensive care unit, which has independent power and
medical-gases supplies, includes five rooms, a nurses' station, a
pharmacy, a technical office, an equipment storage and a cleaning
area.
