YAOUNDE, Cameroon--Vinci SA's Cegelec will invest 9 billion CFA
francs ($16.38 million) in the construction of power lines in
Cameroon.
The company will connect 105 kilometers of the electricity lines
from the Lom Pangar power dam in the east of Cameroon as part of a
project to generate 30 megawatts of electricity, according to a
statement released Friday by Electricite du Cameroun, the state-run
company that manages the dam.
The lines will be connected between November and December this
year, clearing the way for part of the dam's generation to become
operational by 2022, the EDC said.
