In accordance with the terms of the Prospectus dated 30 April 2001, the Board
of The Media and Income Trust PLC has today (6/9/01) declared the following
interim dividends:

Third interim dividend of 2.25p (2000: n/a) in respect of the year ending 30
November 2001 which will be paid on 19 October 2001 to holders of Ordinary
2.5p shares on the register on 14 September 2001.

First interim dividend of 2.075p (2000: n/a) in respect of the year ending 30
November 2001 which will be paid on 19 October 2001 to holders of Preferred
Income 1p shares on the register on 14 September 2001.
