CompuDyne Corporation (NASDAQ:CDCY), an industry leader in
sophisticated security products, integration and technology for the
public security markets, announced that the Norshield Security
Products (Norshield) business in its Attack Protection segment has
been awarded security related contracts on two projects with a
total value of $3.3 million . Norshield, a Montgomery, Alabama,
manufacturer and installer of architectural equipment for high
security facilities, was awarded a contract for the design,
manufacture and installation of high level security windows for a
new federal office building. The strength of the Norshield offering
was our proprietary aluminum framing system. In independent testing
the Norshield aluminum system has been certified to resist blast,
ballistic and forced entry attacks. The building owner preferred
the lowered long-term maintenance cost of this system. Aluminum was
the design choice due to the reduced sight lines and overall
improved aesthetics. Norshield was also awarded a contract for the
design and manufacture of forced entry, ballistic and blast
resistant security doors, windows, curtain wall and louvers for the
United States embassy located in Abuja, Nigeria. Norshields
forced-entry, bullet, and blast resistant doors, windows and
louvers will armor the embassy office building and perimeter
security facilities. Norshield will be providing product and
training to Washington, DC based Dynamic Corporation. The architect
of record is Engineering Applications Consultants, P.C. of Burke,
VA. Structural engineering will be performed by Weidlinger
Associates, Inc. Norshield Security Products provide turnkey
product and service solutions to armor governmental, commercial and
private interests. Norshield is a primary supplier to the U.S.
Government of architectural equipment for highly secure facilities
and has provided the majority of blast, ballistic, and forced-entry
products to the U.S. Department of State since the Department of
State began its armor program in 1981. Norshield is on the
frontline of product R&D and innovative service options within
this industry. Certain statements made in this press release
