HomeBanc Has More First-Year Mortgage Originators on Annual List
Than Any Other Bank or Mortgage Company in U.S. ATLANTA, April 10
/PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- HomeBanc Mortgage Corporation (NYSE:HMB)
scored 17 out of 56 slots on Mortgage Originator Magazine's list of
the "2006 Top Rookie Originators" in the United States, which
appears in the magazine's April 2007 issue. "Rookie" is a common
industry term for mortgage originators with one year or less of
mortgage origination experience. Mortgage originators are also
commonly known as loan officers or mortgage bankers. With about 30%
of the rookies on the list being HomeBanc mortgage bankers,
HomeBanc continues its tradition of dominating this important
industry benchmark list. On the 2005 list, HomeBanc's rookies
accounted for 10 of the 44 rookies ranked. On the 2004 list,
HomeBanc's rookies accounted for 13 of the 45 rookies ranked. On
the 2003 list, HomeBanc scored 15 out of 75 slots available on the
list that year, and on the 2002 list HomeBanc scored 13 out of 75
available top rookie slots. "These results over the past five years
speak to HomeBanc's ability to hire and train mortgage bankers that
produce industry-leading production results," said HomeBanc CEO
Kevin Race. "We believe this track record of producing top rookie
originators coupled with our renewed emphasis on recruiting
experienced mortgage bankers puts HomeBanc in good stead to compete
in our Southeast footprint." HomeBanc invests in its rookie
mortgage bankers' success by offering an intensive mortgage
origination training program. All new HomeBanc mortgage bankers are
put through HomeBanc's nine-week training class at the company's
headquarters in Atlanta. During this class, new mortgage bankers
learn a wide range of information, including the ins and outs of
the mortgage business, sales skills, details of HomeBanc's
extensive line of mortgage products and the use of HomeBanc's
innovative mortgage origination technology platform and systems.
HomeBanc also assigns each rookie mortgage banker a mentor with
several years experience. These mentors provide the rookies with
real-world knowledge and rookies shadow their mentors on customer
calls during their training. All HomeBanc mortgage bankers in
HomeBanc's markets are then supported in their efforts with
corporate marketing and customer retention campaigns, field
marketing support in their regions, an unconditional customer
service guarantee and innovative mortgage product solutions, all
aimed at raising awareness of the HomeBanc brand and building
long-term satisfied customers. Mortgage Originator Magazine is a
