--Whiting Petroleum Corp (WLL) filed a counterclaim on Jan. 4 against oil marketer Jamex Marketing LLC in connection with a crude resale agreement, Reuters reported Wednesday.

--Whiting alleged that a Jamex executive convinced Shell Trading US to pay Jamex a broker fee for oil that Whiting already agreed to supply to Shell, Reuters reported.

--Jamex had sued Whiting over the loss of a contract with Shell, the report said.
