WYEVALE GARDEN CENTRES PLC

The Company received notification today that following acquisition of 1,047,071
ordinary shares in the Company, FMR Corp and its direct and indirect
subsidiaries and Fidelity International Limited ("FIL") and its direct and
indirect subsidiaries hold 3,691,912 ordinary shares of 25p in the capital of
the Company, representing 6.617% of the Company's issued share capital.  The
interests are non-beneficial and include interests held by unit trust schemes in
the UK and, by virtue of his shareholding in FMR Corp and FIL, Mr Edward C.
Johnson 3d.
