Misleading about Kvaerner

LONDON, 20 JUNE 2001: Several media have today reported from an interview with
Mr. Kjell Inge Rokke, the majority owner of Aker Maritime, Kvaerner's biggest
shareholder, in which he claims that the Kvaerner CEO, Kjell Almskog, in talks
with shareholders, has given specific forecasts for the share price to double
over the next twelve to eighteen months.

Kvaerner would like to stress that this is not correct. Neither Kvaerner nor
representatives of the Group's management have made any specific forecasts
with regard to share price development in the short term or longer term.
Information from the company has purely been related to plans for the
operations and results development.
