 AFRIORE GROUP EXERCISES OPTIONS TO INCREASE INTEREST IN AKANANI MINING TO 74%

Road Town, Tortola, British Virgin Islands - AfriOre Limited ("AfriOre") (AIM/
TSX: AFO) is pleased to report that it has elected to increase its indirect
shareholding in Akanani Mining (Proprietary) Limited ("Akanani Mining"), the
exclusive holder of a prospecting permit on its Akanani Platinum Project (the 
"Project") in South Africa, from 20% to 74%.

Following receipt of encouraging drill results from the drilling program to
date, AfriOre, through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Metals Technology Inc. 
("MTI"), has exercised its option to acquire an additional 54% of the issued
ordinary shares of Akanani Mining by paying ZAR8,000,000 (eight million South
African Rand) (approximately CAD$1.6m) in aggregate to the original shareholders
of Akanani Mining, thus increasing its shareholding in Akanani Mining to 74%. 
The closing of this transaction is expected to take place by the end of 
November 2005, subject to obtaining all requisite regulatory approvals.
