Encouraging drill results for Jipang prospect at Toka Tindung
Mine
Archipelago is pleased to announce exceptional drill results
from the Jipang prospect, being a further extension to the existing
high grade Kopra deposit located approximately 3km from its 95%
owned Toka Tindung Mine ("Toka Tindung") in North Sulawesi,
Indonesia.
HIGHLIGHTS
Exploration
-- For the year ended 31 December 2012, Archipelago drilled 581
holes totalling 82,391m as part of its targeted near site
exploration campaign.
-- In addition to a number of results published during 2012,
encouraging drill intersections can also be reported for the Jipang
prospect (81 holes for 10,069m), which is located approximately 3km
south of the main Toka Tindung pit. Jipang highlights include:
10m at 16.61g/t Au (JIP089A, 52 - 62m) [including 1m at 42.60g/t Au; 52 - 53m]
17m at 3.81g/t Au (JIP052A, 49 - 66m) [including 5m at 8.49g/t Au; 61 - 66m]
8m at 6.49g/t Au (JIP057A, 102 - 110m) [including 3m at 11.09g/t Au; 103 - 106m]
9m at 7.31g/t Au (JIP066, 72 - 81m)
10m at 4.83g/t Au (JIP068, 65 - 75m)
11m at 6.28g/t Au (JIP068A, 77 - 88m)

-- It is anticipated that these results will contribute to an
updated Resource and Reserve Statement, which is expected to be
released in Q1 2013.
2012 Production Results
-- Archipelago will release 2012 production results on 23

COMMENT
Commenting on the drill results, Marcus Engelbrecht, Managing
Director and CEO, said:
"The significant drill intercepts encountered at Jipang,
combined with similar results reported throughout 2012, further
demonstrate the prospectivity of Toka Tindung. We expect our
drilling success to continue, with the on-going discovery of high
grade ore supporting expectations for a material increase to our
economically defined gold reserve and mine life."
DETAILS
In addition to Toka Tindung's main pit, ore is currently sourced
from the four high grade southern satellite deposits of Pajajaran,
Araren, Blambangan and Kopra.
Archipelago's 2012 exploration programme involved further
drilling at these known deposits, in addition to the adjacent
mineralised zones. The aim of the programme was to increase the
level of confidence of the Resource, thereby permitting further
conversion of additional ounces to Archipelago's mineral Reserve
category. The programme was also aimed at expanding the Resource by
testing for further mineralisation at depth and along strike. For
the year ended 31 December 2012, Archipelago drilled 581 reverse
circulation and diamond drill holes for 82,391m at Toka Tindung,
the results of which will be included in an updated Resource and
Reserve statement expected to be issued later in Q1 2013.
Please refer to Figure 1, which provides an overview of deposits
and prospect locations under investigation. Archipelago will
continue activities in these locations in 2013.

In addition to intersections published during 2012 for other
prospects, exceptional results can now be reported for drilling
from 81 holes for 10,069m at Jipang. For example, drill holes
JIP89, JIP89A and JIP97A are of note. These were testing strike
extensions. A cross section appears at Figure 2.

Significant results for Jipang appear below in Figure 3 and all
drill intercepts >1.00 g/t Au are set out in
Appendix A.

Note: for the purposes of the above table, drill results that
have a grade x wide > 20 were considered significant. All holes
are reverse circulation drill holes and angled at between -50 and
-65 degrees.
It is anticipated that the Jipang results will contribute to the
updated Resource and Reserve Statement. Toka Tindung remains highly
prospective and capable of building on Archipelago's already
substantial 2.58m oz Au Resource and 1.47m oz Au Reserve.
COMPETENT PERSON STATEMENT

exploration results, together with any related assessments and
interpretations, have been verified by and approved for release by
Mr. Graeme Fleming B App Sc (Geol), MAusIMM, a qualified geologist
and full-time consultant for PT. Tambang Tondano Nusajaya, a
subsidiary of Archipelago Resources Plc. Mr. Fleming has sufficient
experience which is relevant to the style of mineralisation and
type of deposit under consideration and to the activity which he is
undertaking to qualify as a Competent Person as defined in the 2004
edition of the "Australasian Code For Reporting of Exploration
Results, Mineral Resources and Ore Reserves." Mr. Fleming consents
