Bristol Water plc notes the announcement made today by Bristol Water Group plc,
the text of which is set out below.

                Proposed Return of 148 pence per Ordinary Share
                          and 10 for 13 Consolidation

                    Results of Extraordinary General Meeting

The Board of Bristol Water Group plc is pleased to announce that at the
Extraordinary General Meeting ("EGM") of Bristol Water Group plc held earlier
today, the special resolution to approve the implementation of the proposed
return of 148 pence per Ordinary Share and 10 for 13 Share Consolidation was
duly passed.

The return remains conditional upon Court approval.

Set out below is the remaining expected timetable of principal events:

Last date for dealings in Ordinary Shares                                 5 July
New B Share Issue Record Time                                5.00 p.m. on 5 July
Consolidation Record Time                                    6.00 p.m. on 5 July
Dealings commence in Consolidated Ordinary Shares            8.00 a.m. on 6 July
CREST accounts credited with Consolidated Ordinary Shares                 6 July
Court Hearing of the petition to confirm the Return                       6 July
Return becomes effective                                                  7 July
Despatch of cheques in respect of the Return                          By 15 July
Despatch of share certificates in respect of Consolidated
Ordinary Shares                                                       By 15 July
