Application has been made to the Irish Stock Exchange for 5,125,008 and to the
UK Listing Authority for 5,125,000 Ordinary Shares of Nominal Value Euro0.10 each
in the capital of Dragon Oil pl to be admitted to the Official List of the UK
Listing Authority and to the Official List of the Irish Stock Exchange and
application has been made to the London Stock Exchange for these shares to be
admitted to trading.  Such admissions is expected to become effective and
dealings to commence in these shares on 26 January 2004.  These shares have been
issued pursuant to the exercise of share options.  The total number of ordinary
shares in issue is 403,778,120.
