The following announcement was made to the Australian Stock Exchange Limited
today.

Foster's Group Limited advises that the Foster's Group Limited Share Purchase
Plan announced on 27 June 2001 has closed. The offer of up to Foster's 571
shares at A$5.25 per share was made to each registered shareholder in Australia
and New Zealand at 29 June 2001 and was taken up by nearly 40,000 shareholders.
The offer will result in the issue of approximately 18.1 million new shares. The
additional capital raised is approximately A$95 million.

The purchase price of $5.25 under Share Purchase Plan was the same price paid by
local and offshore institutions in the Company's placement of 66.7 million
shares on 29 June 2001 when Foster's successfully raised A$350 million.
