                       Announcement of Board Appointments


IDMoS plc, ( AIM: IDO) ( "IDMoS" or the "Company") the specialist in disease
detection and monitoring technology, is pleased to announce the appointments of
Malcolm Gillies and Roger McDowell as non-executive directors of IDMoS.

Malcolm Gillies, aged 56, was until recently a Senior Corporate Finance Partner,
and is now a consultant to, Shepherd & Wedderburn, the United Kingdom solicitors
with offices in Scotland and England.   He has over thirty years in-depth
practical experience as a commercial lawyer with particular emphasis of Funds,
International and Stock Exchange related transactions, and in particular in the
advisory and transaction implementation roles with companies listed on the
London and other international exchanges.

Roger McDowell, aged 53, worked for some 20 years with a pipeline manufacturing,
products and supplies company, of which he was subsequently managing director.
This company achieved a full listing on the London Stock Exchange, and in 1998
was sold to a French industrial company.  Since then, he has held a number of
non-executive appointments in both private, full list and AIM quoted companies.

Commenting on these appointments, Stephen Westwood, Chief Executive Officer of

The above companies were all placed in administrative receivership on 21st May
1999. No adverse report was filed against the directors of any of the above
companies.
