                             RESULT OF TENDER OFFER
                                        
The result of the Tender Offer made by Walker Crips, which closed at 1:00 p.m.
on 29 November 2007, was as follows:

  * valid tenders were received from Shareholders in respect of 10,718,003
    Shares, representing approximately 89.4 per cent. of the issued share
    capital of the Company;

  * as valid tenders were received in respect of less than the maximum
    number of Shares authorised to be repurchased all tenders have been accepted
    in full;

  * as the Tender Offer was not taken up in full the Company retains the
    authority to make market purchases of up to 68,473 Shares, which will
    represent approximately 5.4 per cent of the reduced issued share capital.
    This authority expires at the Annual General Meeting of the Company on 20
    December 2007;

  * the Tender Price was 252p per Share;

  * the consideration payable to Shareholders in respect of valid tenders
    will be sent to Shareholders on 5 December 2007;

  * the Company has today repurchased from Walker Crips, at 252.32655p per
    Share, the 10,718,003 Shares acquired by Walker Crips under the Tender Offer
    and, following completion of the repurchase on 5 December 2007, those Shares
    will be cancelled; and

  * following cancellation of the Shares repurchased by the Company, the
    issued share capital of the Company will comprise 1,266,869 Shares.

The terms of the Tender Offer were set out in the circular to Shareholders dated
30 October 2007 (the "Circular").

Capitalised terms used in this announcement shall have the meanings given to
them in the Circular.
