On 28th April, 2008 Mrs A.M. Bushell sold 20,191 capital shares, at 112.5p per
share. Additionally, on 28th April, 2008 Mr. A.F. Bushell purchased 20,191
capital shares at 112.5p per share.

The notification relates to a transaction notified to Smaller Companies Value
Trust plc today by Mr. Bushell, in accordance with paragraph 3.1.4(1)(a) of the
Financial Services Authority's disclosure and transparency rules. The
transaction took place in the UK and the shares are listed on the London Stock
Exchange.
