CyberDefender Corporation (Nasdaq:CYDE), a leading provider of remote technical support services and Internet security software and utilities, today announced that its Chief Financial Officer, Kevin Harris, has been selected as the winner of the 2011 TechAmerica Financial Stars of the Year Award in the category of a Public Company with revenues under $50 million. TechAmerica is among the industry's largest trade association and advocacy organizations.

One of only seven financial executives selected to receive an award at the First Annual Financial Stars of the Year Awards ceremony, Mr. Harris was selected from over 40 nominees for his accomplishments and contributions to the Los Angeles financial community and to the success of CyberDefender.

"Kevin Harris, was a standout in the Public Company under $50 million category, based on the successful navigation of his company from survival mode to growth mode and while doing so he oversaw growth in revenue from under $20 million in 2009 to over $45 million in 2010," said Dotty Kaminsky, Director, TechAmerica Los Angeles. "During 2010, he worked with management to get the company's common stock listed on NASDAQ, brought in new auditors and strengthened internal management information systems to allow predictive modeling of the Company's future revenues. Additionally, he migrated the company's funding from hedge fund sources to traditional debt financing and oversaw the accounting, legal, business development and human resource functions. Additionally, he contributed to the effectiveness of the management team through his vision and collaboration," continued Kaminsky.

"TechAmerica was thrilled to see an outpouring of Senior Finance Executive participation in the awards race this year. The quality of contributions in the category of Public Company under $50 Million in particular, made the selection process very difficult," Kaminsky concluded.

"We are all very pleased to see third party validation of Kevin's accomplishments here at CyberDefender and congratulate him on this prestigious award," stated Gary Guseinov, CyberDefender CEO. "We are excited about the company's future growth opportunities, particularly the success of our newly launched online backup product and our strong product pipeline, which includes LiveTech for SMB. We are proud to have Kevin as a part of our team, supporting our efforts as we work to drive growth and profitability. "

Winners were announced at an awards ceremony on May 18, 2011, at the Skirball Cultural Center. For the complete list of winners and other information including photos, please visit the TechAmerica Awards Site: http://www.techamerica.org/financial-stars-awards-ceremony.
