Engineered Support Earns $6.5 Million Production Award for Test Station Subsystems

ST. LOUIS, Nov. 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Engineered Support
Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:EASI) subsidiary Systems & Electronics
Inc. (SEI) recently received a $6.47 million production option
award, the second of six production options on a firm-fixed-price
contract, for the Reconfigurable Transportable Consolidated Support
System (RTCASS) Program from McDonnell Douglas Corp., a wholly
owned Boeing Co. subsidiary. SEI will manufacture, test, and
deliver 17 RTCASS test station subsystems to Boeing's other major
subcontractor, Teradyne, for final integration and test into the
RTCASS test station. Sixteen RTCASS test stations will be delivered
to the U.S. Navy and one to the U.S. Air Force. The Naval Air
Systems Command, Patuxent River, MD, is the contracting activity.
The RTCASS test station subsystem that SEI produces consists of
RF/microwave synthesizers, RF/microwave switching and signal
conditioning, power supplies, power monitoring, and computer
subsystem including the peripherals. The RTCASS test station is a
portable rapidly deployable automatic test station that can be set
up quickly for maintenance of avionics equipment on U.S. Marine
Corps and Air Force Special Operations aircraft. Marine Corps
aircraft supported are the F/A-18, AV-8B, MV-22 and EA-6B, with the
RTCASS test station operated in amphibious assault ships or L-Class
ships, MALS vans and fixed ground installations. Air Force Special
Operations CV-22 aircraft are supported by the RTCASS test station,
operated in fixed ground installations and expeditionary shelters.
