Genesys Conferencing (NASDAQ:GNSY), a global multimedia conferencing leader, has developed an automatic recording/archiving feature for Genesys Meeting Center users. The Conference Archive was designed specifically for use by customers in financial services to support their need to retain electronic communications and thus comply with SEC 17a-4 rules, the Sarbanes-Oxley Act and other regulatory requirements. "One of our most compelling competitive differentiators is our ability to provide custom solutions to users of our Genesys Meeting Center multimedia conferencing service," said Denise Persson, Genesys EVP of Global Marketing. "Our custom archiving solution, which is, in effect, an 'audit' of a meeting, was developed in response to requests by customers in the financial services industry." The feature has been well received by these customers, Persson added. Close to 40 per cent of Genesys Conferencing's Web conferencing customers are financial services companies, making it the largest market for Genesys. In addition, usage of Genesys Meeting Center in the financial services arena is growing. "We are developing other collaboration applications specifically for the financial services market. Customers in this segment include many of the world's leading financial services providers; several are listed in the top 20 of the Fortune Global 500," Persson said. "Customers like these require best-of-class quality, reliability and security." The Genesys compliance support functionality is in essence an automatic recording and archiving feature. "Every Genesys Meeting Center meeting held under a specified account is automatically archived to meet data archival, retention and storage requirements," Persson explained. Meeting elements captured by automatic recording are: -- Slides shown -- Public chat -- Meeting and account details -- time, date, duration and meeting number -- Email addresses and names of all participants Upon completion of the meeting, the automatic recording is stored on a secure Genesys server. The customer is provided with an API to retrieve the XML archive information and download links.
