SIOUX FALLS,
S.D., July 9, 2012
/PRNewswire/ -- LodgeNet Interactive
Corporation (NASDAQ: LNET), the leading provider of interactive
media and connectivity services to the hospitality industry and the
consumers they serve, has launched a new Mobile Interactive Program
Guide (IPG) feature for its award-winning LodgeNet Mobile

provide more of the comforts and conveniences of home, can now
enjoy a TV-watching experience that brings their living rooms into
their hotel rooms – all through their mobile

"The IPG is a feature travelers have been clamoring for
and we're excited to offer this upgrade to LodgeNet
Mobile without cost to our hotel partners," says
Todd Kelly, Vice President of
Interactive and Mobile Applications for LodgeNet.
"Hotel guests can now have up to three days worth of
television scheduling information, specific to their hotel room, on
their mobile device. Our mobile IPG is taking in-room TV
entertainment to the next level."
A New Way to Make the Traveler Feel More at Home – On
the Road
As 98% of hotel guests watch TV in their rooms, the IPG
integration to the LodgeNet Mobile App provides guests
with property-specific television programming information and
touch-to-tune technology via their mobile devices. Now
guests have an easier way to keep up with their favorite shows
while away from home.
With the new feature now available across all major hotel
brands and in more than 600,000 rooms across the U.S. and
Canada, travelers can follow their
favorite TV programs in a way that is familiar and comfortable. In
fact, a recent study from Smith Micro found that 57% of guests want
channel listings on their mobile device. Channel
programming information is even available prior to arrival so
guests can check to make sure their favorite show or sporting event
is available in their room. The IPG service, available
on iOS devices, (iPhone®/iPad®) and
Android™ smartphones, is available
exclusively to users of the LodgeNet Mobile app on an annual
subscription basis of just $0.99.
The LodgeNet Mobile IPG feature is the latest addition to
the app's super-suite of offerings. Winner of the 2012 Best
Hotel and Lodging Mobile Application Award from the Web Marketing
Association, the LodgeNet Mobile app already allows guests to
control the majority of functions of the in-room TV, receive local
and hotel property information and content, and complete the
checkout process without paperwork or visiting the front desk – all
through their smartphones and tablets.
Meeting Hotel and Guest Needs
"The new mobile IPG is a natural extension of all the
convenient services we already offer travelers through our mobile
app," Kelly said. "We're excited to be on the front line in
developing mobile services that are constantly changing what it
means to travel. We look forward to delivering even more services
to our hotel partners and new ways to make the travel experience
better for hotel guests."
