Basketball Legend to Attend Black Expo and Launch His New Meat
Product Line and Autobiography INDIANAPOLIS, July 14
/PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- A new line of bacon and smoked sausage
products linked to basketball legend Oscar (The Big O) Robertson is
available exclusively in Marsh Supermarkets
(NASDAQ:MARSANASDAQ:MARSB) according to Marsh chairman and CEO Don
Marsh. Robertson will be in Indianapolis on Friday and Saturday,
July 16 - 17, to attend Indiana Black Expo and promote his meat
product line and autobiography. Robertson now owns Oscar Robertson
Foods, which produces Oscar Robertson Signature Products. The
company is headquartered in Fairfield, Ohio, a Cincinnati suburb.
"It's a special treat for Marsh Supermarkets to be working with a
man whose name stands for top quality in both basketball and meat
products," said Marsh. "And we're especially excited to distribute
his meats in the heart of Indiana where he launched his storybook
basketball career." The meat products include Ranch Brand Bacon,
Peppered Ranch Brand Bacon, Hickory Smoked Bacon and Old Fashion
Smoked Sausage. Simultaneously, Marsh also will be selling
Robertson's new book: "The Big O: My Life, My Times, My Game."
Robertson's basketball career started in Indianapolis where he led
his Crispus Attucks High School team to state championships in 1955
and 1956 and was named "Mr. Basketball" in 1956. He went on to a
collegiate career at the University of Cincinnati, where he was
named The Sporting News "Player of the Year" in 1958, 1959 and
1960. Moving on to the NBA, Robertson played for the Cincinnati
Royals from 1960 to 1970 and for the Milwaukee Bucks from 1970 to
1974. His 1971 Milwaukee team won the NBA championship. The
twelve-time NBA All-Star was named to the 50th Anniversary All-Time
NBA team in 1996. Robertson lives today in the Cincinnati area. One
of the largest regional grocery chains in the United States, Marsh
