Shane McClelland, director of marketing for Marconi's Electronic Security and Surveillance group, will discuss, "Advanced Security Systems for Seaports: An Integrated Approach," on Tuesday, March 22, 5 p.m. McClelland will focus on how existing electronic security systems can be transformed to take advantage of the new, embedded intelligence available in the next generation of electronic security systems, including software-enabled video surveillance, wireless devices and biometrics. McClelland is a former U.S. Air Force captain, where he was assigned to the Air Force Communications Command. He also supported the U.S. Government's Advanced Technology Demonstration Network (ATDNet) in a previous role at Marconi. The conference, hosted by the Maritime Security Council, will be held March 21-23 at the Wyndham Airport Hotel in Fort Lauderdale. The Maritime Security Council is Technical Advisor to the U.S. State Department's Overseas Security Advisory Council on maritime security and also advises INTERPOL.
